The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Project Inspector to join our Facilities Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our airport facilities and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and complex inspections of electrical and mechanical installations, alterations, and repairs to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes.
- Monitor project phases for on-time delivery and project timelines, and schedule, verify project completion, and ensure acceptable safety practices and compliance with safety standards.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and other project representatives to coordinate work activities and inspect compliance with services provided.
- Provide technical advice, information, and interpretations regarding various codes, laws, and regulations regarding building construction.
- Analyze specifications and interpret plans, codes, and reports, prepare certificates of final inspection, and issue notices to correct code violations.
- Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records related to inspection activities.
- Collaborate and review projects, develop scope of work, generate bids, RFPs, and project cost estimates, and participate in the selection of contractors.
- Assist with instruction and learning sessions, respond to emergency situations, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in engineering or closely related field.
- Four years of paraprofessional, public works-related engineering experience, including drafting and construction and electrical and mechanical inspection responsibilities.
- Or two years of relevant college-level coursework and two years of paraprofessional engineering technician experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or related coursework.
- Certifications through International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE), Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), US Green Building Council (USGBC), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), International Code Council (ICC), American Construction Inspectors Association (ACIA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority offers a competitive salary range of $67,839 to $108,543, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
