Job Overview

The Process Improvement Analyst is responsible for spearheading and managing the Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives within AEVEX Aerospace. This role focuses on establishing process enhancement objectives and strategies tailored for AEVEX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with the AEVEX Aerospace Integrated Operations leadership team to assist senior leaders and team heads in recognizing and eliminating inefficiencies while sharing insights and recommendations with management.
  • Conduct business assessments, coordinate project planning, and oversee project execution.
  • Analyze the comprehensive business landscape to identify avenues for process enhancement, waste reduction, and cost efficiency, providing actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Facilitate effective communication across all organizational levels, including senior management, to secure support for improvement initiatives.
  • Support change management processes to ensure the seamless adoption of new systems and procedures.
  • Document new workflows, protocols, and operational guidelines to promote standardization.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach teams engaged in continuous improvement projects of varying sizes.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to continuous improvement teams to ensure they meet their objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence in both production and transactional processes by collaborating with various departments including supply chain, program management, and engineering.
  • Evaluate company processes and procedures to identify deficiencies, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, developing strategies for process enhancement.
  • Exemplify the behaviors necessary for fostering a positive work environment, including change leadership, effective communication, teamwork, and mutual respect.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong commitment to Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Proactive approach, with a strong drive to achieve results and effectively manage pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, SMED, A3 problem solving, Kanban, Mistake-proofing, Standard Work, Kaizen, and 5S.
  • In-depth understanding of single piece flow manufacturing, constraint management, line of balance, visual factory concepts, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement effective improvements in manufacturing processes and organizational structures.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience with a proven track record of driving organizational change.
  • Ability to guide teams towards defined outcomes efficiently.
  • Excellent project management skills, including prioritization, planning, and execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of personnel from upper management to production staff.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense sector is preferred.
  • Training and practical application of the Toyota Production System is desirable.

Security Clearance
