About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Nursing Education team at Mount Sinai Queens. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our nursing staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide secretarial and general office support, including word processing, typing, telephone reception, mail distribution, and record and file maintenance.
  • Answer telephone calls, screen callers, relay messages, and greet visitors.
  • Open, sort, and prioritize mail, and pick up and deliver materials as required.
  • Maintain records through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, coding, updating, and destruction.
  • Type routine correspondence, memos, reports, minutes, and other documents from dictation or handwritten copy.
  • Proofread typed materials and make corrections as needed.
  • Screen and schedule patient appointments, schedule referrals for special testing or doctor's visits, and keep records of patient billing for submission.
  • Make travel, accommodation, and/or transportation arrangements.
  • Schedule and maintain calendars for meetings and/or appointments.
  • Respond to inquiries for information according to established policies.
  • Gather, assemble, and categorize data for general information purposes and special reports.
  • Process check requests and expense reimbursements.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in secretarial science, secretarial school diploma, or high school diploma/GED plus one year of related experience.
  • 0-1 years of administrative experience.
