Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Radiology Director and Medical Director, the Lead Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist will oversee daily operations in designated areas. This role involves significant participation in interventional procedures.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting echocardiograms for patients of all ages, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Analyzing data and providing essential calculations to assist physicians in patient management.
  • Proficiency in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.
  • Performing procedures in various settings, including the Echo Lab and during invasive cardiovascular interventions.
  • Administering cardiac contrast agents safely and maintaining high standards of disinfection for equipment.
  • Ensuring efficient department operations, including patient record management.
  • Responding promptly to on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a cardiac sonography program or equivalent training.
  • Proven technical skills in performing echocardiograms.
  • Current certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required within a specified timeframe.
  • Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience or equivalent training.
