Role Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Sonographer will operate under the direct supervision of the Cardiology Nurse Manager or a designated preceptor. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing echocardiograms on a diverse patient population, including infants, adolescents, and adults.
  • Providing detailed analyses and calculations to assist physicians in delivering appropriate care.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.
  • Ensuring safety and competence in the administration of cardiac contrast agents and IV starts.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and contributing to departmental efficiency.
  • Responding promptly to standby calls as required.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited cardiac sonography program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • A minimum of one year of echocardiography experience or equivalent training.
