Your Role:

As a Yard Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our trailer operations.

Your responsibilities will include inspecting trailers and conducting pre-trip checks to confirm they adhere to DOT regulations. You will also be responsible for maneuvering and connecting trailers as required, while effectively communicating all trailer movements and numbers to operations management.

This position is integral to our Last Mile and Logistics department, where you will have opportunities for cross-training and assisting with Last Mile and Loadout tasks as needed. Occasional independent work and travel to Last Mile wellsites may be required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance guidelines.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks consistently and efficiently.
  • Maintain awareness of yard operations while executing trailer movements.
  • Manage the relocation of loaded and unloaded trailers within the yard.
  • Utilize a portable conveyor system for loading sand into trailers.
  • Conduct weight assessments of trailers using a drive-over scale.
  • Connect trailers in various configurations (single, double, triple).
  • Generate Bills of Lading (BOLs).
  • Track and manage paperwork for incoming and outgoing trucks.
  • Assist with trailer inspections as needed.
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Complete tasks efficiently and on time.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Work independently when required.
  • Maintain organization within the depot.
  • Operate the yard mule effectively.
  • Be prepared to travel within the Permian Basin and work at Last Mile wellsites when necessary.
  • Understand BOL processes and logistics applications thoroughly.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills.
  • Cross-train in Loadout and meet MSHA requirements.
  • Possess a basic understanding of trucking route planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend English and apply common sense to follow instructions.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of both.
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings and background checks is required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular use of hands for handling and reaching; ability to communicate effectively.
  • Capability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and climb.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts; 14 days on, 7 days off, including day and night shifts of 12.5 hours.
  • Room and board will be provided at or near the job location.
  • Must be able to work in environments without air conditioning or heating.
