POSITION SUMMARY:


The Gas Measurement Specialist is tasked with implementing measurement protocols to guarantee the precision and reliability of oil measurement. This role ensures that frequency, sampling techniques, reporting, and documentation comply with both State and Federal regulations.


KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acquire a solid foundational understanding of Natural Gas Properties, Gas Processing Operations, Engine & Compressor Maintenance, and Measurement of Gas & Liquids.

Regular verbal assessments will be conducted to evaluate learning progress and support individual growth. Execute routine calibrations, gas sampling, troubleshooting, and installation of Electronic Flow Measurement systems, particularly Totalflow. Oversee and validate third-party meter calibrations. Aid in the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of H2S monitoring equipment. Assist in identifying and tracking H2S within the pipeline infrastructure.

Maintain cleanliness in designated workspaces (Measurement shop, office, company vehicle, etc.). Support the training of new employees or fellow technicians regarding Targa's safety protocols and mechanical maintenance procedures.

Learn to complete relevant work/hot work permits, lockout/tagout documentation, and actively participate in tailgate discussions with team members involved in site activities.

Engage in all safety meetings and initiatives. Be accountable for personal safety and the safety of colleagues.

Must be capable of performing tasks as outlined in the Essential Job Duties for a Gas Measurement Specialist. Familiarize oneself with Targa's Safety Policies and Business Ethics.

Plan and execute all tasks safely by utilizing appropriate tools, adhering to safety and environmental protocols, obtaining necessary permits, and understanding the impact of one's work on coworkers and operational processes.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with all relevant teams, personnel, and vendors.

Demonstrated strong work ethic with the ability to work independently. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, with the capacity to respond to call-outs as necessary to meet business objectives, including shift work for plant or field conditions.

Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. Adaptability to varying climate conditions.

Ability to work in confined spaces:
i.e., performing tasks while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.

Adhere to all relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (e.g., eye protection, appropriate footwear, Nomex). Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with natural gas gathering and processing. Knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography is advantageous.
