Our client is in search of a Director of Industry Programming. This role is pivotal in overseeing the Industry department, ensuring the successful implementation of a strategic vision aimed at delivering diverse, engaging, and thought-provoking programs and summits featuring top-tier speakers, panelists, and moderators. The goal is to enhance the company's reputation as a leading entity in the media landscape. This position also involves fostering a robust community for the organization and its International Council, focusing on memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Compensation: $50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and present innovative programming that aligns with emerging trends and significant news developments, aimed at achieving membership and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to orchestrate conferences and business summits across various locations, including major industry events.
- Identify and secure high-profile speakers and moderators to enhance event prestige and media coverage.
- Ensure that organizational goals, particularly related to sponsors and memberships, are consistently met or surpassed.
- Work in tandem with other departments to guarantee an exceptional customer service experience.
- Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of all programming materials and adherence to scheduling deadlines.
- Facilitate effective communication and maintain a positive team environment.
- Stay informed about industry trends and continuously propose new programming ideas and collaborations.
- Build and sustain strong relationships within the media sector.
- Represent the organization at various industry events and functions.
- Utilize social media and technology to maximize visibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure revenue targets and budgets are met.
- Act as an ambassador for social media initiatives, promoting organizational content within personal networks.
- Engage in additional projects as required.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in Media Industry Event Programming and management.
- Demonstrated executive presence with a network of contacts among C-suite executives.
- Established relationships with key players in the media industry, including technology, sports, advertising, and entertainment.
- Proven success in planning and executing conferences and summits within budget and on schedule.
- In-depth knowledge of current issues and influential figures in the media sector.
- Strong work ethic with a preference for in-person collaboration in a dynamic office environment.
- Expertise in industry trends, best practices, and ongoing debates.
- Exceptional leadership skills for managing cross-functional teams.
- Results-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality programming while leveraging various media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining organization.
- Proactive, resourceful, and creative with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
