Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Department Manager to join our team at Odle Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the Academic Department, ensuring that Job Corps-approved curriculum is being taught in individual classrooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Departmental Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Academic Department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with instructors to develop and implement effective curriculum, ensuring that students receive high-quality education and training.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor instructors, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting their job responsibilities and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Budget Management: Plan and administer departmental budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support academic programs and services.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare and submit reports as required, analyzing data to evaluate curriculum teaching methods and community participation in education and other programs.
  • Equal Employment and Affirmative Action: Ensure that departmental equal employment and affirmative action objectives and goals are met, promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Staff Development: Develop and implement a planned orientation program for new instructors, providing in-service training and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with department staff, center staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring that academic programs and services are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Three years teaching or work-related experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred, certified to teach in the state in which center is located preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational skills, ability to motivate and inspire students, effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to operate household appliances and drive an automobile.
