Role: Peer Learning Facilitator
Compensation: $14.00 Hourly
Department: Assoc VP Student Services - College Enrichment Programs
Employment Type: Student Employment
Status: Non-Exempt
Background Check: Not Required
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized or small group support to foster an engaging learning atmosphere.
- Adhere to specific task directives as outlined by the course instructor.
- Offer specialized academic assistance to fellow students outside of formal classroom settings.
- Uphold the confidentiality of student information and progress in compliance with FERPA regulations.
- Must be enrolled in or have previously completed EDPY 330 (formerly EDPY 393) with the designated instructor.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the course instructor for guidance and feedback on task execution.
- May be tasked with evaluating low-stakes in-class assignments and/or online assessments using provided rubrics.
- Attend monthly professional development sessions.
- Work-study eligibility is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in a degree-seeking program.
- Minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 10 hours of work per week.
- Required attendance at a pre-semester orientation.
- Mandatory participation in weekly CEP meetings during the semester.
- Must be concurrently enrolled in or have previously completed EDPY 330 (formerly EDPY 393).
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in the relevant subject area is required (this must be documented in the transcripts submitted with the application).
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Passion for enhancing undergraduate education.
- Experience in public engagement.
- Capacity for critical thinking and innovative problem-solving.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in task completion.
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress towards a degree.
