Position Overview:

The Logistics Management Institute (LMI) is in search of a Senior Acquisition Consultant to provide expert guidance for a U.S. Army client. This role involves supporting the acquisition, development, and execution of software programs for the Army. The Senior Acquisition Consultant will act as the Government's advisor and Subject Matter Expert in acquisition, program management, and contracting activities. The position is primarily remote, with occasional visits to the client site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate collaboration across various functional areas to address complex challenges and integrate Agile solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Develop and document plans supporting the software acquisition management strategy, including timelines and milestones for various acquisition approaches.
  • Create, edit, and manage multiple types of program acquisition and contract documentation.
  • Monitor changes in DoD and Army acquisition regulations and interpret these changes for organizational tasks.
  • Produce acquisition documents such as Capability Implementation Plans, Acquisition Strategies, Cost Estimates, and executive summaries.
  • Draft Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents, including solicitation sections and necessary attachments.
  • Plan Source Selection Evaluations, including the development of evaluation criteria and vendor instructions.
  • Conduct market research and facilitate industry interactions.
  • Collaborate with Project Schedulers to create Integrated Master Schedules with clear milestones.
  • Establish and monitor performance measurement metrics, including cost, schedule, and scope baselines.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proven ability to build consensus within cross-functional, multi-national teams.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Defense acquisition and contracting, with familiarity in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR).
  • Certification in Agile methodologies or the ability to obtain certification within a few months.
  • Experience in contract formation and management for Software and System Integration contracts.
  • Knowledge of the Software Acquisition Pathway and Defense Business System Pathway.
  • Experience in Government contract management, particularly with Source Selection Evaluations.
  • Prior experience supporting Army or DoD Program Offices.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and SharePoint.
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Desired:

  • Master's degree.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Defense acquisition and contracting.
  • DAWIA Acquisition or Contracting Level II or higher certification.
  • Experience with Enterprise data and analytics ecosystems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in developing acquisition strategies for Other Transactional Authority (OTA) prototypes.
