Position Overview:
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a crucial role as the initial contact for patients at the University of Western States clinic. This position is classified as Non-exempt, Part-Time, and Non-Benefited, with a compensation rate of $22.50 per hour.

Work Schedule:
Part-time hours not exceeding 18 hours per week, primarily on weekdays from 7:30 am to 11:00 am.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Enhancing Patient Experience (75%):
- Deliver exceptional service via phone, email, and in-person interactions to ensure a positive patient journey.
- Manage patient check-ins for routine appointments and facilitate registration for new visits, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Accurately scan and index patient records and collect payments when necessary.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and administer patient satisfaction surveys.
- Address patient concerns directly or escalate them to the Clinic Office Manager as needed.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance during all patient interactions and ensure timely updates to front desk documentation.

2. Records Management (15%):
- Adhere to established procedures for processing medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Handle incoming referrals from external specialists and manage outbound referrals post-visit for various services.

3. Scheduling and Inventory Support (10%):
- Assist the Clinic Office Manager in coordinating clinician and intern schedules within the electronic health record system.
- Conduct inventory checks to ensure clinic supplies are adequately stocked.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in customer service; healthcare experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft applications; familiarity with EPIC EHR is a plus.
