Role Overview: The Lead Systems Engineering Manager for Propulsion will oversee the Systems Engineering team within the Mission Systems Ejection & Propulsion department. This leadership position is responsible for guiding the systems definition for propulsion platforms, ensuring that the team meets their deliverables for various programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage an engineering team, focusing on recruitment, professional growth, and mentorship.
  • Develop strategies for defining customer requirements to facilitate platform advancement.
  • Collaborate with program management and leads to ensure technical objectives are met.
  • Possess 2-4 years of experience in managing engineering teams or leading systems initiatives.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of applicable experience, or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience, or 14 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Eligibility for necessary export authorizations is required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
  • Extensive experience in engineering management within a matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management and Agile Program Management.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and advocacy for MBSE best practices.

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $272,000, reflecting a range of experience levels. Compensation is determined based on various factors, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, and location.
