SUMMARY We are seeking a proficient electrical engineer or technician with a strong background in the design, development, and management of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set in electrical control systems, combining technical knowledge with hands-on experience in overseeing intricate installations and efficiently troubleshooting issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the design, development, and management of all facets of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Lead the installation and maintenance of PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Strategize and manage new installations or modifications to existing systems to optimize material usage, enhance quality, and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment or system malfunctions, providing technical support and guidance to maintenance and production teams.
  • Program Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens, regularly utilizing RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk Studio, and Rslinx.
  • Configure and design HMI/OIT systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware), programming HMI and PLC ladder logic while integrating discrete and analog devices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as UL and CE.
  • Familiarity with Vision Systems (e.g., Eagle Vision, Keyence) and various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g., Yasakawa, ABB, Kinetix).
  • Understand protocols such as RS232, RS485, and Profibus DP/PA, along with Variable Frequency Drive systems and Motor Control Centers.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for control system issues, including PLCs, HMIs, instruments, and VFDs.
  • Interpret and analyze electrical schematics, ladder logic programs, process flow diagrams, and instrumentation diagrams.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or Business.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the process industry related to automation control, PLC ladder logic programming, and HMI design.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and positive team player.
  • Creative thinker with a results-oriented mindset, focused on detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and the public.

Mathematical skills include the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, along with applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and managing several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands of this position require regular standing and walking, frequent sitting and talking or hearing, and occasional use of hands for handling or feeling. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role may expose the employee to moving mechanical parts and electrical shock risks. Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial environments is essential. Protective gear may be required as necessary. The position may require varying start times and weekend work based on business needs. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
