Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Additive Engineer to join our team at Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing an ADDMAN Company. The successful candidate will design for additive manufacturing and operation of metal 3D printers using SolidWorks, working closely with a cross-functional team to develop and execute a business plan to achieve growth in the 3D printing market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop optimized parts for additive manufacturing, considering material and equipment selection, manufacturability, and design optimization.
  • Work with the engineering team to refine existing part designs and optimize new parts to leverage additive technology.
  • Collaborate with Materials Engineers to investigate properties, geometric accuracy, and surface finish to develop optimal print parameters, heat treatments, and design allowables for existing and new alloys.
  • Develop and maintain process control and parameter development for additive machines.
  • Utilize six-sigma quality tools to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes and outcomes.
  • Support customer sales development activities via technical exchanges and communications.
  • Design and detail molds, models, and fixtures.
  • Communicate with outside customers and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Material Science, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 2-5+ years of experience with additive machines, including parameter development and process control.
  • Experience with additive simulation software and topology optimization software.
  • 2+ years of experience in Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Hands-on experience with various additive and subtractive manufacturing and joining techniques for metals and polymers.
  • Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams.
  • Passionate about rapid prototyping and 3D Printing.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to deliver successful designs under tight timing constraints.
Work Environment

The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.

Physical Demands
  • Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and drawings and to inspect machined parts closely.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
  • Able to lift 35 lbs. independently.
  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
