Centre Administrator

About the Role
The Department of Education is seeking an experienced Centre Administrator to support the establishment of a new government-owned early learning and childcare centre. As a key member of the centre's operations team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for all aspects of the centre's operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Department of Education's central office to prepare the centre for opening.
- Provide information and support to families regarding enrolment, orientation, and general operations of the centre.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, colleagues, suppliers, and the Department of Education's central team.
- Data entry into the Child Care Management System, payroll systems, and reporting.
- Process payments.
- Answer and direct telephone calls, ensuring prompt and professional responses to all inquiries.
- Monitor centre security, including at entrances and exits.
- Perform various administrative tasks as required, including communications, team planning, and accepting deliveries.
- Operate in accordance with regulations and Department of Education policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in an administration role, with exposure to the early childhood sector preferred.
- Experience in financial reporting and following organisational policies and procedures.
- Confidence in using administrative software and systems, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, families, and communities.
- Advanced organisational skills, including time management, multitasking, and prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines and support centre operations.
Desirable Qualifications
- Qualification in business administration or related field highly regarded.
- Cert III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher will be highly regarded.
- Current Police and Working with Children's Checks.
