Radiology and Nuclear Technologist

Position Overview: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, functioning as both a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist and a Radiology Facility Coordinator. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at delivering high-quality patient care.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities:
- Conduct nuclear imaging procedures (such as cardiac evaluations and thyroid examinations) under the supervision of a Nuclear Medicine Director or physician.
- Manage the ordering and preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, administering them either orally or via injection.
- Communicate procedures effectively to patients and operate imaging technology, including SPECT Gamma Cameras.
- Process and document imaging results, monitor patients for any adverse reactions, and adhere to ALARA safety protocols.
- Maintain and calibrate nuclear imaging equipment, collect dosimeter badges, and complete all necessary documentation.
Radiology Facility Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Supervise radiology operations (including Nuclear, Ultrasound, and X-ray), mentor team members, and optimize workflow for prompt report generation.
- Assist X-ray and Ultrasound Technicians with report management and facilitate communication between radiology personnel and management.
- Engage in process enhancement, data collection, and scheduling to improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, manage licensing renewals, and support initiatives to increase patient volume for nuclear stress tests.
- Ensure timely report delivery, coordinate billing processes, and handle administrative tasks related to equipment maintenance.
