Position Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for welcoming and registering guests, delivering prompt and courteous service, and finalizing guest accounts upon departure, all while adhering to Pyramid Hotel Group's high standards of excellence.

The Front Desk Agent will:
  • Warmly greet guests with a sincere welcome, utilizing a positive and clear speaking voice, actively listening to requests, and providing accurate information regarding hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Facilitate the registration process by entering and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming essential details such as guest count and room rates. Promote the hotel's marketing initiatives and select rooms based on guest preferences. Issue electronic keys and provide welcome packets containing room keys and other relevant information.
  • Verify and process credit card authorizations using electronic methods, manage cash transactions, and maintain an accurate house bank. Accept various forms of payment and perform necessary currency conversions.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, utilizing clear English communication, and relay messages to guests as needed. Handle mail and packages for guests upon request.
  • Close guest accounts at checkout, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns that may arise, including negotiating compromises when necessary.
  • Maintain composure and alertness during emergencies or busy periods, resolving issues such as room changes or billing discrepancies.
  • Address guest complaints with thorough research to find effective solutions, demonstrating patience and tact to ensure guest satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities

Regular attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role. Employees may be required to work varied schedules to meet the hotel's operational needs. Compliance with Pyramid Hotel Group's rules and regulations is mandatory for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in using a calculator for moderately complex calculations.
  • Ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers, demonstrating patience and diplomacy.
  • Capability to stand and move throughout the front office while performing essential job functions.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in accessing and accurately inputting information into a moderately complex computer system.
  • Ability to observe and respond to emergency situations.
  • Experience with Galaxy systems is a plus but not mandatory.
Education and Experience

A high school diploma is preferred, though no prior experience is required. Previous experience in hospitality is advantageous.

Compensation

The compensation for this position ranges from $37,440.00 to $38,480.00 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
