Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing staffing plans, managing personnel resources, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume overall responsibility for the nursing services of the assigned clinical unit.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, and promote interprofessional collaboration and communication in assuring client-centered care.
  • Articulate and support the nursing role as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, and maintain standards of care that are current and reflective of nationally agreed guidelines.
  • Design staffing plans, schedules, and ensure the provision of adequate levels of staff to meet identified needs.
  • Recruit, interview, and select candidates for all nursing service positions, and ensure fair and reasonable enforcement of Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Utilize systematic processes for monitoring, guiding, and evaluating the competencies and performance of staff, and promote professional growth and development of all levels of staff supervised.
  • Ensure a culture of safety through the interpretation, implementation, and monitoring of safety practices, and participate in hospital-wide and unit continuous quality performance initiatives.
  • Assure staff awareness of safety issues to ensure a culture of safety, and establish procedures to ensure the proper use and prevent the misuse of equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia, and a minimum of three years of related clinical and/or management experience.
  • American Heart Association: Current ACLS, BLS, or PALS certification.
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, management theory, and practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
  • Excellent evaluation, decision-making, prioritizing, delegation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve in an unpredictable environment and assess patient conditions and make sound, independent decisions.
Shift, Salary, and Benefits

Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position). Pay Band: 15. Salary: $92,789.00/Annually. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
