Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, specializing in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. This role involves providing clinical services at the Pediatric Sickle Cell Center, which caters to over 600 patients across the state. The successful candidate will also transition their research initiatives to Augusta University and collaborate with the Director of the PRIDE-FTG program, which focuses on mentoring under-represented minority faculty in developing independent research careers.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:
- Maintain board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
- Deliver comprehensive care within the Pediatric Sickle Cell Center, aiming to enhance quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Engage in clinical responsibilities alongside fellow faculty members, including inpatient consultations, outpatient services, and on-call duties.
- Achieve productivity targets as defined by departmental leadership.
- Foster professional relationships with referring physicians and provide timely feedback.

Research Responsibilities:
- Integrate and advance their research program at Augusta University.
- Collaborate with the PRIDE-FTG Director to fulfill program objectives, including trainee selection and curriculum development.

Teaching and Service:
- Educate and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students in pediatrics through clinical supervision and didactic sessions.
- Maintain teaching evaluation scores that meet or exceed departmental standards.
- Attend a significant portion of pediatric Grand Rounds and faculty meetings.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an MD or equivalent degree with ECFMG certification, board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and eligibility for a Georgia medical license. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to education and scholarly activity, with specific requirements varying by rank:
- **Assistant Professor:** Early career faculty with relevant postgraduate training.
- **Associate Professor:** Mid-career faculty with a minimum of five years at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent experience.
- **Professor:** Senior faculty with at least five years at the Associate Professor level or equivalent experience.
