Position Summary

The Clinical Nurse will be responsible for engaging in high-risk population studies, particularly in Pediatrics and Neonatology, involving investigational drug trials. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Participant Recruitment: Actively recruit and screen new study participants, manage regulatory documents, and assist with various research studies.
  2. Data Management: Ensure accurate data entry into the sponsor's electronic data capture systems and maintain the institutional research database.
  3. Patient Advocacy: Serve as a liaison for patients, coordinating care and scheduling necessary follow-up appointments while performing required laboratory tests.
  4. Specimen Management: Oversee the collection, processing, and storage of specimens, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Audit Support: Assist in preparing for audits and respond to inquiries from the Institutional Review Board.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and hold an active Registered Nurse license in Georgia, along with a minimum of three years of clinical experience in a specialized field. Alternatively, candidates with an Associate degree in nursing and at least six years of relevant experience will also be considered.

Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in pediatric nursing and clinical research is highly desirable, along with completion of the CITI Program and certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).


Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with clinical research practices, patient evaluation procedures, and medical terminology are essential. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are critical for success in this role.
