Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive nursing care to elderly patients within a dedicated care facility. This position involves not only providing direct patient care but also coordinating nursing activities under the guidance of nursing leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Charge Nurse Duties: Act as a Charge Nurse, overseeing nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. Responsible for managing a designated group of patients, ensuring adherence to nursing standards, and participating in patient education.
  • Patient Care: Conduct assessments by taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and implementing prescribed wound care. Monitor patient intake and output, reporting any significant changes to the supervising physician.
  • Nutritional Support: Assist with maintaining proper nutrition and hydration for patients, including meal assistance and monitoring fluid intake.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care provided.
  • Professional Development: Attend in-service training and professional seminars to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain a high level of professionalism in interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, addressing any interpersonal issues with management as needed.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned by nursing management.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • Current, active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in geriatric nursing, particularly in long-term care settings.
  • Ability to effectively plan, assign, and supervise nursing tasks to ensure quality patient care.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of medication administration protocols.
  • Proficient in basic nursing procedures and patient care techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all nursing practices.
