Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Director to join our team at Candle Media. As a key member of our HR leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our organizational development strategy, driving business growth, and ensuring a best-in-class employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organizational Development: Partner with senior executives to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that drive business growth, improve organizational effectiveness, and enhance employee engagement.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding, to attract and retain top talent.
  • Employee Experience: Design and implement programs to enhance employee engagement, career development, and retention, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • HR Functional Excellence: Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Change Management: Lead organizational change initiatives, providing guidance and support to employees and leaders during periods of transformation.
  • Performance Management: Coach and develop managers to improve performance management skills, ensuring a fair and effective evaluation process.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and develop HR solutions that drive business outcomes.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in HR, preferably in an HR leadership role at a high-growth or scaling organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading, guiding, and influencing employee-related decisions.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and learn quickly to prioritize.
  • Solution-oriented mindset and curiosity to continuously improve processes.
  • Incredible customer service skills to support internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent people management, coaching, and partnership skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, judgment, and decision-making.
  • Strong organizational leadership skills, integrity, and follow-through on tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and interact with high-level executives.
  • Some knowledge of HRIS systems (UKG a plus).
  • Advanced understanding of employment laws.
