Social Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at KIPP NYC Public Schools. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students, while also collaborating with teachers, families, and community partners to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a range of issues including academic struggles, social relationships, and emotional well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support students' academic and personal goals, working closely with teachers and families to ensure progress and success.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to identify and address student needs, providing support and resources to ensure student success.
- Manage referrals to external social services and partnerships, ensuring seamless transitions and effective support for students and families.
- Design and coordinate student engagement and family education activities, promoting a sense of community and inclusivity within the school.
- Participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings as needed, contributing to the development of school policies and programs.
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students from low-income backgrounds and students with special needs.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and therapeutic modalities, including assessment and treatment of trauma.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication.
- Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
