Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Services Coordinator to join our team at Comprehensive Health Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive social work services to asylum seekers within the NYC Asylee Flex Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the social, emotional, and practical needs of asylum seekers.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with asylum seekers.
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling and emotional support to asylum seekers, addressing issues such as trauma, stress, and mental health.
  • Coordinate with service providers and collaborate with internal caseworkers to ensure asylum seekers receive necessary services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all social work activities.
Requirements
  • Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State from an accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years of progressive social work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other common office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with asylum seekers, refugees, unhoused or other vulnerable populations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Write, and Speak) highly preferred.
