Position Overview: The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational security posture of information systems. This position requires close collaboration with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Security Officer (ISO) to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ISSM in fulfilling their responsibilities and obligations.
  • Prepare, review, and update security authorization packages.
  • Implement approved procedures for the clearing, sanitizing, and destruction of hardware and media.
  • Inform the ISSM of any changes that may impact the security authorization of information systems.
  • Conduct regular reviews of information systems to ensure adherence to security protocols.
  • Coordinate modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO) prior to implementation.
  • Oversee system recovery processes to guarantee that security features are restored and functioning correctly.
  • Maintain current and accessible security documentation for authorized personnel.
  • Ensure audit logs are collected, reviewed, and documented, including any anomalies.
  • Participate in necessary technical and security training relevant to assigned duties.
  • Conduct the cybersecurity portion of self-inspections, providing security coordination and reviewing system assessment plans.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in implementing countermeasures.
  • Prepare reports detailing the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
  • Perform ISSO duties in support of both internal and external clients.
  • Conduct security impact analysis for all configuration management changes affecting authorization boundaries.

Experience Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, with a focus on Special Access Programs (SAP).

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4 years).

Certifications:

  • IAT Level II certification required to start (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security).

Security Clearance:

  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Must be able to obtain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 40% or more.
