The Cybersecurity Systems Officer (ISSO I) plays a crucial role in safeguarding our nation's security by ensuring the integrity and protection of information systems. This position involves working with a diverse team dedicated to innovative solutions in a leading organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and update authorization packages for Automated Information Systems (AIS).
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding any changes that may impact AIS authorization.
  • Conduct self-inspections of AIS and oversee security coordination for system testing.
  • Identify vulnerabilities within AIS and implement necessary countermeasures.
  • Represent the organization in technical reviews and inspections.
  • Conduct security assessments at various facilities and compile relevant documentation for system authorizations.
  • Coordinate and manage AIS inspections, reports, and responses.
  • Maintain security records and draft Co-Utilization Agreements for network nodes.
  • Prepare reports detailing the status of security measures applied to computer systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies for the operation, maintenance, and disposal of AIS and network nodes.
  • Support internal and external customers in fulfilling ISSO duties.
  • Assist various defense and contractor organizations in developing assessment and authorization efforts.
  • Conduct training sessions related to AIS security.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • Must meet certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with current security policies and manuals.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with military and civilian personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Demonstrated originality, creativity, and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the organizational area of responsibility.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
