Key Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia for patients undergoing various medical procedures while vigilantly monitoring their health status and supporting vital organ functions.
- Engage in the diagnosis and management of acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain, as well as provide resuscitation and medical care for critically ill patients.
- Support daily operational activities, primarily focusing on the delivery of essential services under moderate supervision.
- Utilize foundational knowledge of job procedures and tools, acquired through relevant work experience or vocational training.
- Address routine problems with occasional need for interpretation or deviation from established protocols, while effectively communicating necessary information.
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment for surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures.
- Oversee the anesthesia lab, ensuring staff competencies are met and documentation aligns with regulatory standards.
- Set up age-appropriate anesthesia equipment and assist in patient induction by connecting them to hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Anticipate and assist anesthesiologists during invasive procedures, including arterial and central venous access.
- Respond promptly to operational room requests for assistance with supplies and equipment.
- Manage inventory and ensure the availability of anesthesia supplies in accordance with departmental needs.
- Maintain a record of functional anesthesia equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Conduct responsibilities for the Anesthesia Stat Lab in compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Facilitate the delegation of patient care activities and provide technical training to staff and new personnel.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and updates with manufacturers.
- Prepare for upcoming case equipment requirements.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perceive auditory signals such as alarms and notifications from equipment.
- Exposure to potential health risks, including infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
- Capability to distinguish colors for alarm systems and instrumentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and basic computer navigation.
- Ability to collaborate with staff across various levels.
- Competence in operating and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment.
