Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Manager will play a crucial role as a strategic partner within the organization. This position involves planning, executing, developing, leading, directing, and coordinating the organization's recruitment policies, procedures, and hiring initiatives.

This role is essential for providing expertise in recruitment and interviewing processes, including adherence to recruiting policies and procedures, managing the full talent life cycle for interns and volunteers, and overseeing employee relations, communications, and training, as well as broader workforce retention and development strategies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong consultation and training capabilities, peer and subordinate leadership, the ability to influence, and possess robust business acumen to implement progressive recruitment solutions that align with the HR Team's programs and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Human Resource Manager to execute HR initiatives focused on recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee retention, and talent development to achieve business goals.
  • Oversee the entire recruitment process, including initial assessments, interviews, offers, and onboarding procedures.
  • Lead and participate in HR-related projects, including the revision, development, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Act as a communication liaison with the Executive Director and other leadership members.
  • Stay informed about best practices in recruitment and hiring.
  • Exemplify high ethical standards, professionalism, and conduct.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of direct leadership experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a dynamic, entrepreneurial/start-up environment preferred, with the ability to execute strategically and engage in hands-on work when necessary.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple ongoing projects.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to make sound, independent decisions.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Additional Information

Estimated Commitment:

  • Time commitment: 8-10 hours per week based on organizational needs.
  • Includes monthly meetings and weekly/bi-weekly conference calls.
  • Consistent workload throughout the school year.
  • Term limit: 6 months (extendable by mutual agreement).
  • Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
