Job Overview

The Inventory Control Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the tracking of incoming and outgoing goods, as well as packaging materials necessary for the warehousing and distribution of client products. This role provides financial support related to inventory challenges. Direct reports include cycle counters and clerical staff. The position necessitates active participation in daily operations and future initiatives to ensure alignment with facility objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily inventory expenses and assist in achieving facility KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to consistently meet or surpass established targets, including but not limited to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety, quality, productivity, sanitation, and maintenance.
  • Maintain daily reports to evaluate performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Design and sustain inventory management systems that address ongoing and future facility requirements.
  • Develop and oversee the facility's cycle count program and the inventory recovery/repack/return/recycle initiatives.
  • Provide operational support to Supervisors and hourly staff regarding inventory matters, as well as administrative assistance to the I/O Coordinators and receiving/shipping office personnel.
  • Facilitate and implement the hold process for the local site.
  • Foster a positive environment and contribute to employee development while conducting regular performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Ensure effective communication during daily briefings and shift meetings to equip employees with the necessary information to perform their roles effectively, fostering a sense of team belonging.

  • Familiarity with Lean principles, systems, and tools preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of OSHA regulations required.
  • Knowledge of DOT and Hazmat regulations may be necessary based on the account.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution inventory management required.
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
  • Three (3) years of experience with PC inventory and accounting skills required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in problem-solving, with a preference for formal Root Cause Countermeasure Systems.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles, systems, and tools preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of OSHA regulations required.
  • Knowledge of DOT and Hazmat regulations may be necessary based on the account.
  • APICS certification preferred.
