Job Summary

The Inventory Control Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of inventory at Ryder's distribution centers. This position is responsible for tracking and monitoring inventory levels, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain inventory control systems to meet ongoing and future facility needs
  • Track and analyze inventory levels, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Implement strategies to optimize inventory management processes, including cycle counting and inventory recoup/repack/return/recycle programs
  • Provide floor support to Operations Supervisors and hourly associates regarding inventory issues and office support to the I/O Coordinators and receiving/shipping office personnel
  • Facilitate and execute the hold process for local site
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations of direct reports and provide coaching and development opportunities to improve employee performance
  • Ensure daily communications and shift meetings provide the necessary information for employees to do their jobs consistently well while making them feel a real part of the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Three (3) years or more manufacturing/production/distribution inventory experience
  • Two (2) years or more supervisory experience
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Lean principles
  • APICS certification preferred
