The Director of Quality Assurance in Information Technology is tasked with fostering a culture of quality throughout the IT department. This role encompasses the planning, development, and oversight of quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. The director will assess and oversee tools, methodologies, and automation processes to guarantee effective testing and defect identification. This position is responsible for directing both functional and non-functional testing teams, as well as managing the Environment Management team, Test Data Management team, and Test Architects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a thought leader within the Engineering organization, advocating for best practices in quality assurance.
- Foster strong working relationships across various cross-functional teams.
- Establish, implement, and enhance quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
- Set goals, objectives, and action plans for team members.
- Participate in Agile Methodology ceremonies and sprints focusing on data quality and testing.
- Lead the development and adoption of global quality assurance and test automation practices.
- Oversee global test environments in collaboration with the DevOps/platform engineering team.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations that effectively communicate L.A. Care's regulatory stance and policies.
- Collaborate with leadership across departments to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Technology. Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred EducationMaster's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Experience RequirementsRequired:
- A minimum of 7 years in Software Quality Assurance, including both Automation and Manual Testing.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing a quality assurance team.
- Proven experience in planning and executing comprehensive testing of integrated systems.
- Experience with API testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Expertise in various testing types.
- Experience in DevOps, particularly in CI/CD and test environment setup.
Required:
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of static code analysis techniques.
- Ability to influence and lead teams effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification.
