The Director of Information Technology Quality Assurance is tasked with cultivating a quality-centric culture within the IT department. This role encompasses the planning, development, and oversight of quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. The director will assess and supervise tools, methodologies, and automation processes to guarantee effective testing and defect identification. This position is responsible for directing both functional and non-functional testing teams, as well as overseeing the Environment Management, Test Data Management, and Test Architects teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a thought leader within the Engineering organization, advocating for best practices in quality assurance.
  2. Foster and maintain positive working relationships across cross-functional teams.
  3. Develop, implement, and enhance quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
  4. Establish goals, objectives, and action plans for team members.
  5. Participate in Agile Methodology ceremonies and sprints, focusing on data quality and testing.
  6. Design and promote the adoption of global quality assurance and test automation practices.
  7. Manage global test environments in collaboration with the DevOps/platform engineering team.
  8. Prepare reports and presentations that effectively communicate L.A. Care's regulatory stance and policies.
  9. Collaborate with cross-department leadership to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Technology is required. Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Education

A Master's Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Required:

  1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, focusing on both Automation and Manual Testing.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in managing a quality assurance team.
  3. Proven experience in planning and executing end-to-end testing of integrated systems.
  4. Experience with API testing methodologies.
  5. Familiarity with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  6. Expertise in various types of testing.
  7. Experience in DevOps, particularly in CI/CD and setting up test environments.
Skills Required
