Quality Assurance - Corporate
The Quality Assurance (QA) Department plays a vital role in enhancing the effectiveness of VOALA's programs through meticulous data analysis and validation. Our team identifies key strengths and areas for improvement, working closely with the Evaluation Department and various programs to implement best practices. The QA Department ensures that all documentation and electronic records comply with legal and funding requirements, striving for an 'audit-ready' status across all VOALA initiatives.
JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Under the supervision of a Quality Assurance Coordinator, the Quality Assurance Reviewer II is responsible for conducting thorough reviews and audits of program documentation and database practices. This role ensures compliance with grant, contract, and legal obligations, as well as adherence to organizational policies and initiatives for designated human services programs. The QA Department is committed to equipping VOALA Programs with the necessary support to maintain 'audit readiness.'
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement Quality Assurance processes for assigned VOALA Programs:
- Conduct QA assessments to verify the accuracy of program files and ensure compliance with funding requirements (both physical and digital records)
- Perform annual QA audits for each assigned VOALA program
- Aim for all assigned programs to achieve 'audit readiness' for external evaluations
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned program contracts and grants through ongoing research and collaboration with program staff
- Execute specialized audits for programs under corrective action plans or as directed by the Director of Evaluation and Monitoring. Provide necessary support to ensure compliance and offer training as required.
- Manage more complex programs as designated by the Quality Assurance Coordinator
- Assist colleagues and HMIS specialists as needed
- Prepare programs for funder audits, ensuring all requirements are fulfilled. Review findings from funder audits and participate in post-audit evaluations.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Evaluation and Monitoring.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of a fingerprint clearance and background check, including criminal history, personal references, and verification of employment and education
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in social sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience (4 years)
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or a data-driven environment
- (Seven years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with data entry and database management; familiarity with HMIS and/or Service Point systems
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal regulations, particularly regarding substance abuse treatment services
