The Director of Information Technology Quality Assurance is tasked with fostering a culture of quality within the IT department. This role involves the formulation, development, and oversight of quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. The director will assess and oversee tools, methodologies, and automation processes to guarantee effective testing and defect identification. This position also supervises process and product testing to ensure compliance with established quality benchmarks.
This role will lead both functional and non-functional testing teams, overseeing the Environment Management team, Test Data Management team, and Test Architects. The director will create strategic plans for designated responsibilities and collaborate with senior IT management to align strategies with the overarching goals, policies, and procedures of the IT department.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a thought leader within the Engineering organization, advocating for best practices in quality assurance.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Develop, implement, and enhance quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
- Establish goals, objectives, and action plans for team members.
- Participate in Agile Methodology ceremonies and sprints focusing on data quality and testing.
- Design and promote the adoption of global quality assurance and test automation practices.
- Manage global test environments in collaboration with the DevOps/platform engineering team.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations that clearly communicate L.A. Care's regulatory stance and policies.
- Collaborate with leadership across departments to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Technology. Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred EducationMaster's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Experience RequirementsRequired:
- A minimum of 7 years in Software Quality Assurance, including both Automation and Manual Testing.
- At least 5 years of experience leading a quality assurance team.
- Experience in planning and executing comprehensive testing of integrated systems.
- Familiarity with API testing.
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Expertise in various testing methodologies.
- Experience in DevOps, particularly in CI/CD and setting up test environments.
Required:
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of static code analysis.
- Capability to influence and guide teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification.
