Position Overview


The Quality Assurance Engineer I is tasked with assessing software quality to enhance customer satisfaction. This role involves identifying and analyzing defects and issues encountered during the testing phase.

Additionally, the engineer will document findings for review, report on outcomes, and collaborate with teams to resolve application-related challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review business documentation and specifications for all applications to understand intended functionality and assist in testing.
  • Execute manual test scripts to produce reliable and comprehensive results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise within the portals.
  • Collaborate closely with business, Project and Product Managers, Development, and Infrastructure teams to comprehend system flows, processes, and backend architecture.
  • Test applications, upgrades, patches, and customizations as specified by requirements.
  • Identify bugs and potential issues within the software.
  • Conduct regular system checks to ensure the seamless operation of the portals.
  • Create clear and concise defect tickets with reproducible steps using the ticketing system.
  • Develop and execute test cases for various applications and products, including websites and mobile platforms.
  • Update and maintain test cases to ensure the test suite remains current.
  • Design and execute both manual and automated test cases to identify and report software defects across various functionalities.
  • Document test cases, procedures, and findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure all processes comply with industry standards and company policies.
Regularly update and maintain accurate system documentation.

  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

  • 6+ months of experience in Software QA or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Zephyr is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of software testing lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with various testing tools and techniques.
  • Experience in mobile application testing.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and logical decision-making abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills using deductive and inductive reasoning, with the ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify potential problem areas.
  • Capability to coordinate across various groups and functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or in a similar capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance principles, techniques, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
