Veterinary Assistant Practice Manager

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant Practice Manager to join our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital located in Brooklyn, NY. As the Assistant Practice Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Practice Manager in the daily operational function of the hospital's operations and assuming managerial responsibility for the hospital's operations in the Practice Manager's absence. Key responsibilities include directing and supervising associates, creating an organizational environment that stimulates morale and productivity, collaborating with training and clinical staff to ensure training and quality goals are met, and monitoring and evaluating operations on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. **Responsibilities:**

* Direct and supervise associates
* Create an organizational environment that stimulates morale and productivity
* Collaborate with training and clinical staff to ensure training and quality goals are met
* Monitor and evaluate operations on a daily basis
* Partner with the Practice Manager to develop action plans to maximize hospital efficiency
* Supervise the implementation of improvements
* Responsible for all personnel functions, including hiring, assignment, and direction of work, development and training, disciplinary actions, and termination
* Partner with the Practice Manager in budget preparation and ensure revenue targets and training goals are met
* Review and approve employee schedules to accommodate patient needs
* Ensure the adequacy and adjust inventory levels of all goods and supplies necessary for the operation of the hospital
* Construct and submit timely and accurate reports on a daily/weekly/monthly or as required basis
* Maintain thorough familiarity and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines
* Build rapport with clients and referring DVMs to ensure an overall high level of customer satisfaction with the hospital and services we provide
* Minimize hospital liability through constant risk management review
* Investigate all unsafe situations and situations/complaints
* Work with the Practice Manager in creating and maintaining a positive team environment
