Job Overview


The Catering Operations Manager is tasked with orchestrating and overseeing the complete catering services across various units or within a significant account.

This role involves leading the Catering team, managing catering orders, and executing special events.

As the Catering Operations Manager, you will strategize, oversee, and direct multiple contracted services for our clients to achieve operational and financial objectives, while fulfilling client expectations and customer requirements.

Our managers are skilled operations leaders who guide a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $90,000, influenced by factors such as the applicant's skills and qualifications, relevant degrees and certifications, prior work experience, market data, and other pertinent elements.

Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions where applicable.

This represents Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position at the time of posting.

If hired, the employee will be in an 'at-will position,' and Aramark reserves the right to adjust base salary (along with any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time and for any reason, including, but not limited to, individual performance, departmental performance, and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all catering operations, including event bookings, team supervision, menu development, pricing, hiring, and departmental management.
  • Ensure all aspects of preparation, service, and cleanup for multiple catering operations are executed flawlessly.
  • Develop and implement catering solutions tailored to meet customer needs.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and customers.
  • Create and execute an annual comprehensive marketing strategy for catering, encompassing collateral, sales tactics, and marketing budgets.
  • Establish and uphold service and presentation standards for all catering operations, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Introduce new services to foster business growth and enhance client retention.
  • Stay informed about current catering trends and advise clients, customers, and staff accordingly.
  • Facilitate the delivery of prepared food based on banquet event orders.
  • Engage in the sales process and contract negotiations, assisting clients in planning special events.
  • Train and lead catering staff to ensure adherence to catering standards.
  • Set and achieve sales, food, and labor targets.
  • Manage the execution of catering events of varying sizes and scopes, including staffing and management.
  • Handle accounting functions related to catering, ensuring accurate reporting of all related revenue, expenses, and receivables.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, occupational, and environmental policies.
  • Lead a team that provides operational expertise in contracted services while managing hands-on execution of operations.
  • Manage client and community relationships at the location, continuously evaluating operations and developing plans to enhance service and drive employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Build, develop, and lead a management team and staff capable of achieving organizational goals.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a management capacity.
  • Prior experience in events and catering is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Availability for event-based hours.
  • Completion of Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.


This role may involve physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
