POSITION SUMMARY:

The Alfond Youth And Community Center is seeking dedicated Aquatic Safety Specialists. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety of individuals enjoying the aquatic facilities while also enhancing their overall experience. You will acquire essential skills such as CPR and first aid, while also improving your customer service expertise. EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitoring and supervising the swimming area.
  • Guaranteeing the safety of all aquatic patrons.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance and participation during open swim sessions.
  • Conducting pool tests as required.
  • Advising on necessary supplies and equipment to uphold maintenance and safety standards for the pool area.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Capability to identify emergencies and respond effectively, both in water and on land.
  • Ability to engage with the public and collaborate with staff at all levels.
  • Exhibit strong internal and external customer service skills.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Certification in Lifesaving, CPR, and First Aid is required. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE: Varied hours including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
