Hours: 32 Hours Weekly, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM

Position Overview:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will deliver essential care to patients who are ill, recovering, or have disabilities in various healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medications and initiate intravenous fluids, meticulously documenting times and dosages in patients' electronic health records.
  • Monitor patients closely and report any changes in their conditions, including adverse reactions to treatments, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and determine the best methods to assist them.
  • Measure and document vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Provide fundamental patient care or treatments, such as temperature checks, blood pressure monitoring, wound dressing, and catheterizations.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to organizational policies and procedures; promptly report and address any safety hazards or violations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Maine.
  • BLS certification required prior to independently caring for patients and must be maintained.
  • Graduate from an accredited LPN program or meet state eligibility requirements.
  • No prior experience necessary.

Working Conditions:
Ability to lift, move, and load weights between 30 to 50 pounds. Willingness to work alternate shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Expect prolonged periods of standing and walking.
