Automotive Controller Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automotive Controller to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our financial leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of our business.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the financial and accounting operations of the business, ensuring all transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts to assist with strategic planning and decision making.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and assist in the attainment of the company's strategic goals.
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, etc. when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive sales industry.
  • Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to work, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
