Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse II provides essential health assessment and screening services, administers treatments and immunizations in accordance with established protocols, and delivers comprehensive education and counseling to patients and fellow healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical history reviews and perform detailed physical assessments.
  • Administer necessary treatments and immunizations while collecting laboratory specimens as required.
  • Engage in extensive educational outreach to patients and other healthcare staff.
  • Serve as a mentor and preceptor for patients and partner organizations.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse. Proficiency in standard software applications is essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, departments, and the public.

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is mandatory, along with a valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.

Additional Information

Depending on departmental needs, employees may be required to work overtime or weekends with prior notice from their supervisor or department head.

Candidates should be capable of enduring prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting, as well as lifting up to 25 lbs without assistance. Travel to various work locations may be necessary.

Special Considerations

This role may involve working in secured facilities, necessitating the ability to restrain or pursue youths and being available on-call for unit emergencies.
