Overview of the Position:
The Advanced Practice Nurse at Prism Health North Texas will deliver exceptional primary and HIV/AIDS healthcare services. Key duties encompass patient assessments, examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and medication oversight under the guidance of a supervising physician. Accurate documentation of patient interactions and the incorporation of new medical knowledge into practice are vital components of this position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute mid-level practitioner functions to ensure effective patient care management.
- Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to educate patients and foster strong relationships.
- Keep precise patient records and remain informed about the latest advancements in the healthcare sector.
- Engage in clinical research and initiatives aimed at quality enhancement.
- Contribute to the establishment of departmental objectives and goals.
- Provide clinical oversight of patient care in alignment with clinical trial regulations.
- Participate in meetings, serve on committees, and assist with various projects as required.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills:
- Proactive approach and ability to effectively coordinate client services.
- Aptitude for managing multiple responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health records.
- Strong communication and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a clinical setting as a nurse practitioner.
- Valid Texas APRN or FNP license with Prescriptive Authority.
- Awareness of medical trends and issues related to HIV/AIDS.
- Current BLS certification and AAHIVM specialist certification to be obtained within 18 months of employment.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to engage in activities such as verbal communication, handling various objects, and occasional lifting. Adjustments can be made for individuals with disabilities. The typical work environment is characterized by a low to moderate noise level.
