Primary Responsibilities

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner II, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare to patients within a specified primary or specialty area. This includes patient assessment, treatment planning, education, and referrals.

You will also act as a mentor and resource for clinical practice, overseeing the training and evaluation of practitioners and students to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Assist leadership in the evaluation, planning, organization, and execution of advanced practice provider initiatives.



Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • For Physician Assistants:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by the appropriate accreditation body.
  • For Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN):
  • Master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree accredited by recognized nursing education bodies.

Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in similar roles.
  • Alternatively, 5 years of clinical experience as an APP in any healthcare field.

Licensure and Certification
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification from recognized organizations.
  • Must meet and maintain all licensing and registration requirements as specified by relevant medical bylaws and policies.

Skills and Abilities
  • Deliver care in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act or Texas Medical Board Rules, as applicable.
  • Demonstrate leadership through exceptional clinical skills and as a resource for practice development.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess effective leadership abilities, including motivation and change management.
  • Show familiarity with Parkland's policies, structure, and mission.
  • Demonstrate patient-centered behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct all clinical practitioner service activities in designated specialty areas, including obtaining patient histories, performing physical examinations, making assessments, and planning care.
  2. Document health histories, findings, treatments, and recommendations accurately and concisely.
  3. Involve patients and families in care planning when appropriate, providing education for self-management and follow-up.
  4. Supervise and evaluate APP students, contributing to the education of healthcare trainees.
  5. Stay updated on developments in your practice area through continuous education and professional engagement.
  6. Foster positive relationships among all staff, ensuring patient-centered care with a focus on customer service.
  7. Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and develop internal controls to promote compliance with laws and accreditation standards.
