Job Summary

The University of New Mexico seeks a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Administrative Operations to oversee the fiscal and administrative operations of a medium-sized academic library. This is a key leadership role that requires strong management and administrative skills, as well as the ability to develop and maintain complex operating budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the fiscal and administrative operations of the library, including budget development and implementation, financial planning, and human resources management.
  • Supervise a team of staff, including direct and indirect reports, and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations, including process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Collaborate with library leadership and other stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage contracts and grants, including pre- and post-award functions, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to promote the library's services and programs to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, or public administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a higher education or academic library setting.
  • Strong management and administrative skills, including budget development and implementation, financial planning, and human resources management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations.
