Invenergy is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy projects, and we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President, West Origination to lead our origination efforts in the Western United States.
Job Summary:The Vice President, West Origination will be responsible for leading and driving Invenergy's origination activities in the West, including developing and maintaining relationships with utility customers, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and executing Power Purchase Agreements and other contracts.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with utility customers, particularly at the senior level, to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies to achieve origination goals, including the development of proposals and pricing for opportunities.
- Lead and support contract negotiations with utility customers, ensuring that commercial strategies and risk management are effectively implemented.
- Lead a team of Originators and support staff to ensure broad customer engagement, including RFP responses and bilateral sales.
- Coordinate with development, finance, engineering, and other departments to develop solutions for customers, including assisting in the development of proposals and pricing for opportunities.
- Create strategies and business cases for new project developments in conjunction with other teams.
- Maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of power markets and regulatory activities impacting customers and projects.
- Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations to stakeholders, including utility customers, investors, and Invenergy's leadership team.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or economics.
- 10+ years of experience in the energy sector, with a proven track record of success in sales, commercial deal structuring, and negotiations.
- Deep knowledge of transmission and power markets, with experience across WECC, SPP, ERCOT, and/or CAISO.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently, with a minimum of 25% travel required.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship.
- MBA or similar advanced degree.
- Renewable energy project development experience.
- Renewable energy project management or construction experience.
- Strong organizational, networking, leadership, and time management skills.
- Strong public speaking and personal skills.
- Ability to write effectively and communicate concisely.
- Collaborative leader and team-player who will work with others to deliver results.
$215,000 - $260,000
Benefits:Eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), bonus, paid time off, and other benefits.
