Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Technician II collaborates closely with Quality Engineers to oversee customer quality and proactively address quality concerns. This role requires interaction with various departments such as Design Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Production, Customer Service, Material Planning, and Sales. The individual will leverage data analysis to identify trends and, under the guidance of the Quality Engineer, implement necessary actions based on findings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting during product launches to ensure adherence to customer specifications and our quality management framework, while providing insights from quality data to enhance the product transfer process.
  • Supporting the Operations Team and Production Quality Technicians to guarantee that launched products and processes meet the required standards of both the customer and the quality management system.
  • Conducting data analysis to identify critical trends, metrics, and conclusions.
  • Utilizing engineering resources to formulate solutions for corrective actions arising from data evaluations.
  • Delivering direct customer support for routine quality metric reporting and performance monitoring, including leading any resultant actions.
  • Providing direct customer support for quality escalations and responding to formal corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Taking ownership of product and process enhancement initiatives based on customer feedback, new product introductions, and quality data assessments.
  • Promoting and educating others on quality procedures and processes.
  • Leading structured corrective action processes to identify root causes, effective solutions, and implementation strategies.
  • Assisting colleagues in data analysis and implementing process corrections based on findings.
  • Effectively communicating technical issues and data analysis summaries across all organizational levels, ensuring clarity regarding product and process statuses and associated action priorities.
  • Identifying, summarizing, and presenting process and product challenges, along with business cases for solutions that require management attention.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related quality field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient data analysis skills, with a preference for intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Strong communication, project/task management, problem-solving, and failure analysis skills.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
