PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
  • Conduct Thorough Inspections: Quality Technicians evaluate and measure incoming material lots to ensure compliance with drawing specifications. Supporting the PPAP processes, they possess comprehensive knowledge of geometric tolerancing/design and standard inspection tools. Findings must be accurately recorded and reported.
  • Efficiently Perform Failure Analysis & Cleanliness Testing: Analyze and troubleshoot failures to ascertain root causes and assist in resolving quality issues related to manufacturing, design, or suppliers. Quality Technicians collaborate with teams on part evaluations and brainstorming sessions. Conduct product contamination studies as necessary and utilize cleanliness testing equipment. Apply the DMAIC problem-solving methodology.
  • Ensure Accurate Calibration of Production Equipment: Calibrate and verify production equipment utilized for manufacturing and testing, including test stands, gauges, and electronic devices. Develop and edit calibration process instructions as required. Coordinate external calibration services and maintain accurate calibration records and certifications.
  • Assist Engineering Studies, Operations, and Purchasing: Quality Technicians conduct studies and/or GR&R. They gather and document inspection and testing data, write purchase orders for new gauges, equipment, and supplies, and perform additional technical tasks as directed by Quality Engineers.
  • Deliver Prompt Customer Service: Travel to customer locations as needed to address concerns. Analyze customer feedback to identify root causes and document findings. Support sorting and containment activities both in-house and at customer sites. Manage the receipt, logging, testing, analysis, reporting, and storage of line/warranty returns from customers.
  • Collaborate Effectively as a Team Player: Work harmoniously with colleagues to achieve results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Combine strong attention to detail with a results-oriented approach.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree or equivalent military or formal training in engineering or quality, or comparable education and experience.
  • Experience in a hydraulics or similar manufacturing setting with an ISO or IATF16949 quality program, including mechanical testing and/or inspection, is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of geometric tolerancing/design and standard inspection metrology tools.
  • Experience related to the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures, and tooling is beneficial.
  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks that directly enhance the effectiveness and quality of the organization and its employees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across functional areas.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Capable of managing interruptions, meeting tight deadlines, and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This role requires sitting for 60% of the workday, with standing or walking for 40%, and includes driving/traveling.
  • Frequent use of hands for fine manipulation/dexterity is necessary for operating inspection and calibration instruments, data entry, writing, and using a mouse and phone. Clear and audible speech is required for phone duties.
  • Visual requirements include excellent number and depth perception, strong reading abilities, and the capacity to read computer printouts and spreadsheet applications.
  • Exposure to various office or shop hazards may occur, including temperature variations and occasional contact with chemicals and fumes.
