Job Description:

As a Technology Support Specialist II, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise to support personal computers, Apple devices, classroom technology, and other technology equipment. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Technical Support Services and be responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users, including software installations and support, diagnosing and solving hardware and software problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to employees and students, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
  • Develop and deliver training to employees and students on the use of instructional technology, software, and other technology equipment.
  • Collaborate with the IT Technical Support Services Team to ensure seamless technical support and services.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on technology equipment, including computers, printers, and other devices.
  • Assist with the implementation of new technology initiatives and projects.
  • Provide technical support for special events and programs, including live-streamed events and graduation ceremonies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC, macOS, and mobile device environments.
  • Experience with instructional hardware and software, including computer networking and server management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and provide technical support in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
