Executive Director of Healthcare Operations

The Executive Director of Healthcare Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational functions of departments under the Inpatient/Outpatient Procedural Services and Family Medicine & Behavioral Health/Corrections umbrella. This position involves leading various administrative initiatives, optimizing departmental efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing patient care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
    • Lead initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, patient care, and staff productivity.
    • Collaborate with executives to ensure departmental goals are aligned with the overall hospital strategy.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
    • Assess the needs of various teams, providing support staff for special projects and routine duties as required.
    • Develop and enforce departmental policies while streamlining workflows for enhanced efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations, healthcare standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including forecasting and financial planning.
    • Monitor expenditures, optimize resource utilization, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Provide regular financial reports and analyses to hospital leadership.
  • Staff Leadership & Development
    • Supervise and mentor administrative staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
    • Support recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Patient Care Coordination
    • Ensure high-quality patient care by coordinating with clinical teams and implementing patient-centered initiatives.
    • Address and resolve employee and patient concerns promptly.
    • Monitor patient satisfaction and develop strategies to enhance the patient experience.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Identify and lead process improvement projects to enhance departmental performance.
    • Monitor key performance indicators and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.
    • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, integrating them into department operations.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Facilitate effective communication within the department and with other hospital units.
    • Represent the department by providing detailed performance reports to the leadership Team.
    Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 7 years of overall healthcare experience.
    • At least 5 years of strong operations management experience in leading multi-specialty or specialty-specific practices with more than 60 physicians.
    • Training in LEAN philosophy with Green Belt certification or eligibility.
    • Over 10 years of solid operations management experience.
    • FACHE or MGMA certification.
